When you’re home or office decorating grand dreams can easily turn to frustration when you start to get lost in the sea of patterns, colors, styles and ideas. In fact it may even seem easier to do nothing than to try to somehow put all ideas that are swimming in your head into one cohesive plan. Don’t give in to that voice! You need some tips that will help you to plan a beautiful space in a short amount of time so you can stop worrying and start enjoying.

1.) Don’t use dark blues, greens or reds in a small room. Dark colors soak up light. It will make it feel like you’re living in a cramped cave.
2.) Do use pastels or light colors in small spaces. Yellow will especially widen a small room. Yellow allows the natural light from windows to bounce around the room.
3.) Do choose colors that you like. After all, you want to live with them for quite some time, right?
4.) Don’t pass by a color just because you don’t care for it at first glance. Think of how the room will look as a whole and not the color solely by itself. Some of the wall colors I’ve most enjoyed have been shades I wouldn’t have chosen if I walked straight to the paint chip display.
